YOUTH PEER EDUCATORS DO SEXUAL HEALTH OUTREACH AT HAMPTON SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL and THEIR FIRST ONLINE YOUTH FORUM! (2011 Event)

YEP (Youth Educating Peers) Crew is group of young volunteers who are passionate about sexual health and aim to address the issue of STIs and BBVs (Blood-Borne Viruses) in the community by actively engaging with young people and encouraging them to make safer and informed choices. They do peer education through a range of activities, from designing resources, running campaigns and competitions, doing outreach at events and schools, and engaging young people online through Facebook and other websites like www.Reachout.com  and www.tuneinnotout.com. To learn more about YEP Crew visit www.yacwa.org.au, or link up with them on Facebook by searching ‘YEP Crew’.

For WA Sexual Health Awareness Week, the YEP Crew are partnering with Hampton Senior High School to do outreach with the students during lunchtime on Valentines Day (14th). This will be the first time the YEP Crew have done their outreach activities at a school, so everyone is very excited!!

YEP Crew are also partnering with ReachOut to co-facilitate an online youth forum around sexual health issues. Tune into www.forums.reachout.com on Thursday 17th Feb 2011, 5-7pm, and get involved!

Any young people aged 16-25 that would like to be a peer educator? Email Rebecca at yep@yacwa.org.au to find out more info.
